PRMS is a specialist boutique recruitment consultancy supplying staff at all levels (junior up to senior management and Director) within all disciplines of professional marketing including digital, PR, communications, e-Commerce, bid/tenders and agency account staff.

We also recruit for business development roles in professional services.

We cover these roles in Northwest England, South Yorkshire, North Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

Key specialist sectors we serve include professional services, social housing, NHS and public sector and SMEs in technology, manufacturing and engineering.  But we are proud to represent a wide client-base which includes a wide variety of organisations, public and private.

We supply candidates for permanent, interim/contract and temporary roles.  Temporary contractors are employed by PRMS, paid weekly on production of a countersigned weekly timesheet. As the employer we take care of all employers’ NI, holiday pay, pension, payroll charges and all other ‘on costs’. Being a small company, not carrying the fixed overheads of many of our larger competitors, we can work to a lower temping margin and hence usually offer high quality candidates at highly competitive daily rates.

At PRMS we never cold-call and do not operate a sales-led recruitment model but instead value service, reliability, candidate quality and attention to detail as the four main cornerstones of our operation at PRMS.   All our project management staff have a recognised marketing qualification (relevant degree or CIM) or a minimum 18 months’ prior marketing departmental experience.

Formed in 1999 we have rebranded twice, from our original name, Jobs-in-Marketing (in 2003) and ‘Marketing Northwest’ (2008).

Service Quality

PRMS, established in 1999, operate a dedicated, specialist and accomplished recruitment service, supplying candidates for marketing, digital, communications, and bids/tenders roles in NW England, south Yorkshire, Derbyshire and North Staffordshire.  We cover Permanent, Interim (i.e. fixed-term) and Temporary vacancies at all levels, from junior up to senior management and Director.

We are not a typical modern ‘bucket shop’ (i.e. job boards and Linkedin) recruitment firm and are not sales-led. We never cold call.  Instead we operate our own substantial CRM system and database.  ALL candidates put forward are pre-interviewed and fully vetted for their skills, qualifications, experience, affordability, availability and of course their interest in the vacancy.  We provide summary KeyNotes to accompany CVs which we typically aim to send in batches of 4-6 at a time.

Marketing Experience

As part of our commitment to being specialists in our field, we only employ qualified marketers – i.e. the holders of either a marketing-based degree and/or a CIM qualification OR at least 18 months’ prior marketing departmental experience.  This is so that we can demonstrate a proper understanding of our client’s needs and provide a fully informed, insightful and thorough project service. Peter’s own career, pre-recruitment, was in professional marketing – progressing up to Director level and working in diverse sectors from liner shipping, oil & gas and to publishing and travel. Peter is a former Chartered Marketer, CIM M/cr branch Chairman and regional board member.

Candidate & Job Profiling

We are trained practitioners in Thomas International© personality profiling and candidate/team assessment, with over 20 years’ experience using the UK’s leading profiling framework.  A full suite of work personality, TST/IQ and ‘emotional intelligence’ reports are available for profiling at a modest extra cost. Local Expertise

As we have been operating over 20 years and are dedicated regional specialists, we have our own carefully managed, fully GDPR compliant and regularly serviced/updated database of circa 11,000 northwest-based marketers across all marketing disciplines, career levels and industry sectors.

Value for Money

We can deliver assignments to suit our client’s needs on either a ‘Search-and-Selection’ basis, a 360-degree service or a Targeted (‘headhunt’) search, as appropriate.  Every project is specially built around our client’s specific requirement.  We are often happy to offer a contingent (‘no placement, no fee’) service and a substantial fee discount in return for a period of project exclusivity.

Interim/Temp Contractors are employed by PRMS and supplied on a weekly timesheet at an agreed daily rate (an hourly alternative is available to our client if preferred).  As the employer we take care of the contractor’s PAYE, employers’ NI, holiday pay, pension, payroll charges and other on-costs.   We have an active roster of circa 200 contractors/temps – covering all marketing disciplines, locations and seniority levels.  There are very few – if any – marketing/PR/digital/bid roles for which we cannot have a skilled and experienced contractor in place for an urgent temporary/interim assignment within 48 hours, if required.   And because we are a small company and don’t carry the large admin’ overheads of many of our competitors, our temp’ operating margins are lower and our daily charge-rates to our client is therefore highly competitive

Unique Creative Agency Service

For creative/marketing agencies we represent only one partner (client) in each category, in each region, and will contractually commit to working only for them and no other competitor in their orbit,   thereby avoiding any potential conflict of interest, much like a solicitor might do.  Agencies for whom we operate this unique offering include:  full service, digital, PR/communications, market research, SP, events and creative design.
